I think it's pretty good. One thing I have noticed (perhaps because of the lack of sense) is that the battery is better (doesn't drain as noticeably). On the stock HTC rom, I didn't really make much use of sense and to be honest, I wanted a plain rom that I could customise myself. I've actually played around with a few roms now, but went back the the OpenDesire rom and set the phone up from scratch, therefore having to download my apps from the market again. I'd recommend this method over a titanium backup.
I've not noticed a massive difference, but the dialler is much better than the crap that HTC ships, also the keyboard is impressive, although I've installed swype as I've become a bit of a master with it!
Oh and the gmail app is much better. I'm expecting 720p video recording in a future release and some other madness, so with that in mind:
get rooting!
