Default A Question about Firmware

Two and a bit questions really..

Questions

1a) What's your firmware?
1b) What network is that with?

&

2) Has anyone had their N70 Firmware upgraded/updated at all?

Answers

1a) V 2.0536.0.2 12-09-05 RM-84
1b) Vodafone

2) I just tried to get mine done at the CPW on High St Kensington and they can't do them "for another month" apparently.
Anyone else had this trouble?

Currently on v2.0539.1.1
with Vodafone

I've upgraded twice since I got the phone but that was when I was on the inside and had access to all official Nokia kit. I know there's nothing fundamentally wrong with this firmware version, which is why I stuck with it even though I had access to later versions (which were not fully tested at the time, although I'm sure they are now ). I don't think I would upgrade to anything else soley because it would be too much hassle for fixes that don't impact how I use the phone. That said I would consider it if I did find anything glaring... I also have an unbranded version so there's no need to try to get it sorted.

I am really suprised that high street stores aren't able to upgrade yet as the phone has been out for a while...

There are times when I wish I still worked there so I could help you out

Aww - thanks mate!

But never mind - Guess I'll have to keep checking CPW.
Its not that there's a problem with my firmware as such - I just fancy getting it updated as its quite old.. y'know?

I am on V2.0539.1.2 on Vodafone...

I want to upgrade as I use a Bluetooth HS-36 headset and sometimes there are problems with connecting and disconnecting from it..

I called CPW in Richmond the other day about upgrading my firmware and they advised that Vodafone N70s are notoriously hard to flash.

They said only bring it in to be flashed if I absolutely desperately need it upgraded as if it goes wrong, they will have to send it away and I could be without my phone for up to two weeks.

That. Sucks.
