Default HELP with N70 on 3

Hi every one just got my hands on an n70 on 3 and i am very impressed so far. One thing i need to know...I am going out of London for a week and where i am going 3G coverage is not best. Can you lock the phone to o2 like with the 6630/80? If so could you kindly provide me with the program as i cannot find it anywhere..
Cheers

Hey

You have to use a third party application if you wish to lock to 2G, but I'd like to stress that it's quite likely that you wont need to do anything. Give the handset and network a chance before you go forcing it to one mode or the other.

The app is here: https://talk3g.co.uk/showpost.php...2&postcount=10

I'm guessing that means it wont work on the N70 I'm not sure what else to suggest unfortunately, other than having generic software installed under warranty so you can switch between 2G only and 3G/2G on the handset.

thanks for your help guys...signal wasnt as bad as i expected i think they were installing a new mast in the area as i had full 3g signal on some days and only 02 on others. One other question i need to ask though. battery life is very bad on the phone... it lasts a day at best with moderate use and thats on full 3g signal would a firmware update sort the problem as im running v 2.0539.1.2

With that version, the battery should be fine, mine seems to last ages... Most Nokia phones do suffer from battery drain if it has to keep switching between 2g/3g, but if you're constantly in a strong 3G area then you may have a slighlty substandard battery. All I can suggest!
