Default A little help needed...

Ive just bought a new N70 on O2. All was fine with the phone this morning in regards to the O2 Active. However, after i tried a 3USIM in my handset i can no longer connect to O2 Active or send an MMS.

Before you say... ive restored all the settings using the settings wizard and made sure they are all activated. There is no problem actually opening the phones browser and making a GPRS connection as the small symbol at the side becomes two solid lines. But the browser page stays blank whilst the small spinning globe at the top of the screen just spins. There is no loading bar and the indicator of page side which normally rapidly changes as the page is loaded stays at 0k.

Ive tried navigating to other wap sites such as the BBC's and have sent myself numerous amounts of settings from various sites across the web (Nokia, and O2). I have also copied the settings manually from other sites too.

The problem is not just with browsing either. When trying to send a picture, the message just stays in the outbox with no error displayed. The phone connects as normal and the two solid lines in the signal area are displayed. Nothing happens though.

This is a brand new contract im using along with a new O2 3G USIM so i would imagine GPRS and MMS are already activated on my account. Also my wap was working earlier before i put the 3USIM in.

Could there be something im missing?

Any and all help would really appreciated.

Have you contacted 02 Customer Care to confirm these have been activated on your SIM Card?

Well i assumed they were activated because when i first used the phone i was able to browse O2 Active and other websites so it must be activated on my account itself.

Hmm. While in with the rest of the settings, check out 'Advanced' and ensure that Three's proxy server and port number have been removed.

Failing that it might be quicker, given that it's a new phone, to sync your contacts to your PC and do a full factory reset.

Just to let you all know, i found out the cause and solution of the problem. . at 2.35am!!!

I realised whilst half asleep that I had changed the Norton AntiVirus settings on the phone to HIGH which prevents all outgoing/incoming internet or MMS traffic.

As soon as i put the settings back to normal the internet returned to normal and about 50 MMS' came through from people i had been asking to MMS me.

So im really to blame in all of this....i suppose there is a lesson in this story somewhere. . . but thanks for your help
