not possible yet, bootloader is DB2020.

AFAIK the first unlock solutions will be log and server.

How would the OP go about getting their SE K800i unlocked at present? Or is it still not possible? I'm easily confused

Only by the parent network at the moment, if they'll give you the unlock code. Privateer unlocking has only just been made possible by Setools, but it is by server subscription so a high cost to the unlocker which they'll pass on to the punter. I am an Setools user, but won't buy server credits unless there was sufficient demand, which at present there isn't. The other unlocking solutions have not yet [afaik] got the K800i solution ......... yet ......
