anyone know the easiest way to unlock it

and what generic firmware is available?

A nice little present - from Vodafone or other means?

I think you may need Vodafone's help to unlock it :-/ I've never managed to successfully unlock any of the USB sticks, only the old MiFi!

I've always found Huawei mobile broadband gear better than rival stuff. Seems to get and hold on to signal better.

replying to my own post, was already unlocked, now debranded and happily running at 7.2mbps

Well that's a bonus!

Planning to get much use out of it? I seem to have quite a collection of dongles and data cards that have been obsoleted by the little MiFis.

never used my zte mf626, joy of working for a major uk isp, employee discounted line rental call plan and broadband for as long as I work for company.

both dongles now capable of making voice calls, cant see a purpose to this, but works fine
