Right, I want to get both my mum and dad (both retired) new phones which need to be fairly easy to operate.
They don't currently have any data included with their PAYG tariffs.
I can't believe I'm about to say this but, 3G is not necessary
My mum texts a lot and likes the smaller form factor.
My dad makes more calls than texts and would prefer one with good battery life.
They both want a camera. Can you believe their current phones don't have cameras! I cannot even remember what they are. One is a samsung slider from 3 or 4 years ago and the other was won at a raffle maybe 6 years ago!
They will probably only use the call, text and camera functions of the phone, so smartphones need not apply!
I was thinking about this Samsung (http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/mobile-phones/SAMSUNG-CH@T-335/PPAY&clearance=false) model from Carphone Warehouse.

The budget is around £50 each. What would you guys recommend?
Cheers.

Motorola Gleam is in that budget price, do not know if it has the dreaded i-tap though

Would the Sony Ericsson Cedar suit? It has a fairly basic spec, being a Feature Phone and sports social media apps Twitter and Facebook - http://www.trustedreviews.com/Sony-Ericsson-Cedar_Mobile-Phone_review

It can be had for around £50 in high street stores - http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&xhr=t&q=sony+ericsson+cedar&cp=15&safe=off&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1146&bih=715&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5443034740518347790&sa=X&ei=-o0NTrGYOY6BhQeH-4zuDQ&sqi=2&ved=0CE8Q8wIwAg

What network as it may limit handsets unless you talk about unlocking?

They are currently on O2 and orange, but I would prefer to switch them to one provider. They have patchy cell coverage where they live but I have no real preference.
My mum likes flip phones, so the gleam could be a runner.
