The above device, known as the N950, will also be made available with MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan on a limited non-public basis via the Nokia Device Programme (you apply as a developer requesting a device to develop apps, and if you qualify will be "loaned" an N950).

Getti has the following picture on worldofnokia:

Getti states 12mp camera but release notes: http://www.developer.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/3744886f-69c1-4544-8ad3-72b352b4a832/Nokia_N950_OneClickFlashers_Release_Notes.html show a 8mp camera

I'm not sure what to make of it all really.

Pushing out Symbian devices I can understand; existing customers need something to upgrade to while WP7 continues to be developed. But MeeGo? Why push a new OS that has virtually no installed base when you're about to drop it anyway?

The N9 stuff I've seen/read looks good... did Nokia really need to do the deal with Microsoft if MeeGo devices will get to market first?

A company in disarray if you ask me. Elop's execution of this recovery has so far only managed to take the fire from the burning platform and spread it about the entire company.

LOL - I was thinking along similar lines, but more an image of rearranging the deck chairs as the Titanic Nokia starts to sink, having hit the two icebergs of iOS and Android in rapid succession. The band played on for months and months while the captain and crew did nothing very much at all. Finally, they lowered a lifeboat into the water (N8) but that seems to have sunk without a trace.

Hmmm, I'd better stop. :)
