Just got a new high capacity (3500mAh) battery and it seems to work very well extending the life of the phone. The standard 1500mAh battery barely lasts a day in the handset especially if its used for Sat Nav or as a video player.

The new battery was a bargain at £9.99 from an Amazon merchant and comes with a new rear case cover to accommodate the thickness of the high capacity battery. Makes the phone a bit heavier and thicker but I think thats a small price to pay for all the extra hours the phone can be used.

Cool find :) This is going to be the on-going problem with Samsung's drive for ever-thinner devices. Battery storage technology has not advanced sufficiently to allow such cosmetic changes without there being a direct and tangible consequence. Hope is on the horizon with some of the in-lab technologies. If they can just commercialise these then we will see dramatic improvements to the capacity of a given size of battery. One such that springs to mind is nanotech - where they managed to incorporate the surface area of a football field into a single AA sized cell. Industralise that and we'll see the 600% capacity increase realised.
