Not receiving messages after phone has been turned off

Hi,

For the past 3-6 months, i am constantly not receiving text messages in the morning after i have turned on my phone again. My network is Orange and this is happening regardless of the person that has sent the message. The other people that are sending me messages are on other networks, so it makes me believe that it is an issue with Orange.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, regardless of the network? I am wondering if it's an issue with Orange, networks in general or some how it is a weird fault with my phone.

Hi Rob,

When your phone comes back in service your operator alerts those SMS centres that have messages waiting for it that delivery can now take place.

It sounds to me like this is happening, but that the sending SMS centres cannot tell that the message has been delivered to your phone.

It could be a handset fault - you'll need to try your SIM in another phone to find out.

If you confirm that the problem persists with a different handset then let us know. FYI the messages will still deliver again, but should then stop.
