I'm tied to three for another 18 months and really dislike the handset I chose. I would really like to have the Dell Streak after having used a friends for a while. Can I just buy an unlocked Streak from ebay and pop in my sim card or is there more to it than this? Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi M0AJL and welcome to Talk3G.

The answer to your question is a qualified "Yes". The qualification being that if you can buy a truly unlocked (or SIM-free) Dell Streak then you will be able to use your Three SIM in the device without any trouble. The only thing to think about, and find out, is whether or not you have any mobile broadband data bundled in your existing Three plan. Because the Dell Streak, like any well behaved Android handset, will make use of Three's mobile data which will cost you a fortune if not included in your monthly plan.
