From Mobile Today (31/03/2005):

3 unveiled a new off-peak tariff today (Friday), with T-Mobile customers firmly in its sights.

The price-plan offers 3,000 off-peak minutes to any network for £25, putting rival operators’ evening and weekends tariffs in the shade. It means 3 will make an even bigger splash among the value-seeking customers who have been drawn to its cheap line rental and voice calls, particularly the youth market.

How does 3’s offer compare?
3 3,000 minutes £25 (any network)
T-Mobile 500 minutes £20 (any network)
Orange 1,000 minutes £25 (any network)
Vodafone 1,000 minutes £20 (Vodafone and landlines)
O2 500 minutes + 50 texts £25 (any network)

Crikey... that's a substantial amount of off-peak minutes!

Is this the capacity benefits of a 3G network on display, or is this a tariff made to make headlines but with a short shelf life? I hope it's the former!
