My Desire has tonight told me there was a system update available (unknown what it was called but it was a load of numbers then VODAFONE and some more numbers). I selected to install it and it told me it was backing up my files etc and downloaded via wifi the update which was 23.3mb.
It then switched itself off and installed and re-booted. It was all looking good but when it restarted it instantly pops up loads of warnings and makes you force close loads of android processes. The main one which displays every few seconds states: the process android.process.acore has stopped working unexpectedly, then offers you to force close. however it instantly comes back up and does not allow me to do anything on my phone.
can anyone help???

Is it possible to do a hard reset or a restore? I've not had much dealings with Android, but those options usually solve most update issues on other handsets. Failing that I'd probably attempt to flash vanilla firmware back onto the device. I'm sure one of the resident Android gurus will be able to offer more relevant advice though, so don't do anything hasty just yet. :)

Eep sorry to hear that - can't say I've had a problem on the Nexus One so I wouldn't know where to start! There must be a hard reset option or a restore option when connected to the PC. I just don't know what it is :D Someone will!

Heres a guide on how to hard reset your Desire. But as always backup everything before hand.


From the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings.
Scroll down the screen and then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.
