Undaunted, yet more new handsets from Nokia on the way. I almost can't wait to see what is going to be available come contract renewal in November '05

Nokia Corp. on Monday unveiled seven cellular phones, with the more expensive models offering built-in still and video cameras and digital music players.
The new models were introduced at the Nokia Connection 2005 conference in Helsinki, Finland. The Finnish company touted the phones' ease of use and the advanced features of some of the products, including cameras, digital music players and support for high-speed data services.

The products as a whole covered three cellular networks, WCDMA, GSM and CDMA.

"Today's launches showcase Nokia's commitment to offer consumers easy-to-use mobile phones in a variety of desirable designs - regardless of cellular technology," Kai Oistamo, senior vice president for mobile phones at Nokia, said in a statement.

The Nokia 6280 is equipped with a 2-megapixel still and video camera, and provides a platform for video sharing and two-way video calls. The new product includes Bluetooth technology for wireless connection to printers and PCs. The phone is scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter.

The 6270 slide-phone features a 2-megapixel camera and a built-in digital music player that supports MP3 and AAC sound formats. The 6111 slide-phone includes a 1-megapixel camera and a digital zoom lens. Both phones are set to ship in the fourth quarter.

The folding-designed 6060 phone provides basic voice communications and includes a large color screen for easier use of messaging capabilities. The phone is scheduled to ship in the third quarter.

The 6265, expected to ship in the fourth quarter, contains a 2-megapixel camera, a digital music player and Bluetooth wireless technology. The product supports 512MB and 1GB miniSD cards that can store "hundreds" of images or music filed, Nokia said. The phone also has a built-in FM radio.

For consumers looking for inexpensive phones, Nokia introduced the 2255 and 2125 models. The 2255, scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter, is a fold-style phone with a color screen and an integrated FM radio. The phone also features several business applications, including a spreadsheet, calculator and currency converter.

The 2125, set to ship in the third quarter, is a mono-bodied phone with color screen, a speakerphone and built-in flashlight. The phone also includes a calculator, calendar and alarm clock.
