Never really rated LG as a force in HS, and I'm really surprised they're ahead of Nokia!!
South Korean handset maker LG has sold 1m units in Europe s WCDMA mobile handset market, capturing the number one market share position with 25.5 per cent, according to a report on Europe s mobile phone market during the first quarter of 2005 released by market advisory firm IDC.
Europe's WCDMA market size was estimated at 8.1m units last year, and it is the world s largest WCDMA handset market.
LG has partnerships with mobile operators, including Hutchison, Orange in France, and Telefonica in Spain.
LG plans to supply some 20 kinds of WCDMA mobile handsets to the global WCDMA market.
The company estimates a total global market size of 50m units.
