This is getting like a stuck record.

What on earth has one got to do to get O2 3G in this country?

Here I am, sitting in Sky's campus on the Great West road and there is not a whiff of 3G anywhere. The same was on the train journey in. This really sucks.

For those not in the know, the Great West road, as it's name implies, is a major arterial road between London and the west. Running almost parallel with the M4 it is a major bearer. Lining it on both sides are huge buildings and complexes staffing hundreds of thousands of people along it. It is a vast array.

And what is the best that O2 can offer here? Plain 2G is what. Not even EDGE.

It is quite pathetic really :(

That really is pathetic. I'm very much looking forward to the end of this charade, which could be any second now - my Orange contract seems to be hanging in there tooth-and-nail at the moment, though (that's the number I want to use on Vodafone, grr).

O2 have said that they've plans for improvement in 2010. However, that their CEO seemed to only think there was a problem in central London in that BBC interview doesn't exactly suggest they're in touch with the desperate state of their network.

Telefonica need to spend a lot of money to bring O2 up to scratch. Did they not see it coming? I still think they'll wait to deploy in 900MHz now. They've never liked 2100MHz it would seem, they've held out very publicly right from the beginning.
