Good Evening Ben

Thanks for emailing us to find out if you can get your iPhone unlocked.

Ben, I understand that you want to get your iPhone unlocked so that you can use it with another providers SIM card.

I'm sorry but it isn't possible to unlock the iPhone. Your iPhone is restricted to use only on our network in the United Kingdom. This is the reason we're unable to unlock an iPhone so that it can used with another providers SIM card.

You can view this information in our iPhone terms and conditions. Here's the link where you can view our iPhone terms and conditions:

http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/iphone

Just to let you know, any attempt to unlock an iPhone so that it can be used with another providers SIM card might make it permanently unusable.

I hope I've explained this clearly to you.

I asked about my iPhone 3G. Got a big fat no :)

Things might change when O2 lose their Apple exclusivity, which they will.

What a typical call centre dick-headed response!

Is that an answer? Even Alastair Campbell is clearer than that. :p

How about explaining why it's restricted to O2?
