Taken from the offical o2 Ireland fourm talk202:
"Data roaming rates with O2
From July 1st, data roaming is €4.98 inc Vat Per MB used for prepay and postpay customers while roaming in the EU.
Effective from sometime in July however, O2 is implementing further data roaming price reductions for postpay customers roaming in the EU.
For example, with O2’s new daily data roaming rates, if a customer uses 4MB or more in a day, any subsequent data used that day while roaming, up to a max of 50MB in the day, is free of charge. So the customer is only charged for the first 4MB (at €4.98 per MB) – and all additional data used up to 50MB on a day is free. There’s no need for customers to specifically opt-in to avail of these rates, as the daily data rates will be available to all postpaid customers who have roaming activated on their account.
Customers are only charged for data used each day so they don’t have to sign up to a monthly bundle to avail of the rates. I wonder why the rates dint drop on the 1st July and what or if the UK 02 prices will be
Still a rip off given that vodafone will do 25MB for £5 that lasts 24 hours
