I live within 300m of one 3 mast and 350m of another - no I don't know why they put two up in such close proximity either. What is especially astonishing though is that on two different 3-capable handsets (unlocked Viewty and an old A835) I am getting precisely two bars signal strength.
Clearly 3 have an issue in this area at least - not that I'm going to bother with them. But it is all the more surprising when I recall that when I was actively using 3 several years back (never again!) that we'd routinely see a full five bars of solid signal.
So what gives? Why have 3 turned down the wick? Its hardly going to improve the customer experience of their service.
NB: I've run up the two Skypephone SIMs that I got from 3 when the original device launched. There is still £50 credit between them and the lad can have it for his 3 dongle when it arrives and until he can get a landline with ADSL. There's no way I'd use 3 for mission critical ever again.
