Vodafone store theft
May 20, 2005
The Vodafone store on Weybridge high street in Surrey was broken into on the night of Tuesday 3 April. About 150 boxed handsets were stolen.
The burglars broke into the store through a rear fire escape, gaining access to the flat above the shop. They then removed the floorboards and made their way into the shop stock room, which is located directly underneath. The break in took place sometime between the hours of 6pm and 9am.
Since the burglars gained access directly to the stock room, the Weybridge store did not have to close and remains open for business as usual, despite an ongoing investigation. Surrey Police is asking people in the area to be on their guard against stolen Vodafone handsets being offered for sale.
We are still investigating and asking for any witnesses to come forward with information, a Surrey Police spokeswoman said.
