The consolodation continues with 02 and Vodafone set to share networks.
3 already share sites with Orange and have integration with T-Mobile.
Not wanting to be frozen out Orange are now looking to join in with 3 and T-Mobile for a more comprehensive network sharing deal.
So it looks likely that in the next few months there will be 5 mobile operators but only two networks.
The reasoning behind the moves is to ensure the holders of the 900Mhz GSM licences get full benefit from the sharing of the older GSM frequencies for 3G use.
Five operators, within this year probably four, sharing two networks, a sea change in the landscape for mobile users.
