Is this first sight of the T-Mobile G2, supposedly out in "late April"? http://www.androidg2.org/

The claimed improvements over the G1 are:-

The Android G2 handset has numerous hardware and software improvements over it's G1 predecessor, here's a list of what's been updated in the new G2 model.

Higher quality 640 x 840 screen resolution capable of loss-less quality drops with 800 x 600, 800 x 480 scalability.
Larger touch screen that covers more of the original G1's sliding tray.
Ultra low power GPU+CPU processors capable of seemlessly handling Open GL ES 2.0 gfx effects, transitions, and lengthy HD playback.
Improved inward travel with keyboard key strokes and other buttons.
Increased compass senstivitiy and responsiveness.
5MP Camera with flash.

I'd be fairly disappointed if the G2 looked like that.

Isn't it about time the other manufacturers started shipping android devices?

That's an interesting looking photo. Much more subtle than the G1 and most certainly an Android homepage.

I'm not entirely sure what it is about Android that floats my boat, but the OS certainly has my interest. From a few hours playing with the youth's G1 I am fairly sold on the OS although not the G1 itself. Adapting from this iPhone that I am using to post here is not so difficult. But having to physically rotate the handset just to use the keyboard soon became a chore. Rumour has it that the G2 is touchscreen only.

I also have to compare the apparent robustness of both handsets (G1 and iPhone). I am not entirely convinced that the G1 is up to the same build and quality. So will the G2 be any more so? Time will tell.

Like others I do wonder where all the other Android handsets are still! They are long overdue.
