Well there goes the iPhone. It decided to lock up yesterday when browsing the App store, and I did a hard reset, it then just got stuck on the apple logo and never came back to life. RIP iPhone, long live the replacement that the Apple store in milton keynes gave me :D
Anoyying thing is I don't have a recent backup, but I do have all the apps on the laptop. Just have to restore everything one by one...

Glad to hear you got a quick replacement.
There are, or so I have read, various strategies for resurrecting dead iPhones when they're in that state. But it's all good if you've got a new one!

I must admit , I have always had a little worry (in the back of my mind) about not being able to force a reboot on the iPhone by pulling the battery out - this is something I have always had to do at some point with WM6 / Symbian devices - so there has always been this worry - "What if the iPhone stops responding ? "
Touch wood , it has never come to anything - the only time my iPhone did "brick" was during flashing once - and then Ziphone saved the day !
From what I gather , these devices are pretty easy to mess around with and sort out , but if you can get a replacement , then you were right to take it and save getting your hands dirty !

Well it's still ticking along nicely. I've held off putting anything on it aside from my contacts and calendar. I'll wait until the 2.1 update, then I'll start the long and laborious music/podcast/photo transfer.
