For those that do not want to pay Apple £60 PA for their Push services , there are alternatives

http://beaugiles.net/blog/2008/07/using-google-as-a-free-mobileme-alternative-with-push-contacts-calendar/

Now I am seriously considering this , as I currently use a Gmail address as my main email address, and TBH I only started using the iCal when I began using the iPhone, I had used Google calender as my calender too - therefore this would be pretty suited to me
The only slight concern , is that NuevaSync requires your login credentials for google :(

I should mention that I had previously been getting my Push mail /Contacts from a Mail2web.com , and had been forwarding my Gmail account to the mail2web account , giving me effectively "push Gmail" - I was using natve exchange on WM6 , and M4E on S60 - it all worked pretty well TBH , with the only downside being battery drain - which is going to be unavoidable to an extent

So there are options around for those that don't want to spend out !

I particularly do not like 3rd parties knowing my login credentials. Worse still if these are being sent in the clear (not https:). I am not suggesting these 3rd parties don't use https but beware any that do not.

Taken as an entire package MobileMe is quite an attractive proposition at just over £1 a week. If you don't need/want all it has to offer then alternatives such as the above are worth consideration.

The iPhone almost insists on you using something like this :d

Trouble is, it isn't quite there yet for me, so shelling out 60 quid is rather significant. Hopefully, this will be rectified sooner rather than later.
