The temptation of the "leaked" final version of 2.0 was too much :D

Just upgraded to 2.0 , the upgrade seemed to take a little longer than usual , but it all worked - Just syncing everything over then I can have a proper play :)

Am very much looking forward to hearing what you've got to say about v2! :D

For anyone after the firmware, there's info over at Macrumors.

All looks good so far

The Apps store is up and running and really quick and simple to use - I haven't bought any apps yet , but it verified my ID and password to get a couple of free ones

My favourite thing so far is the itunes remote - absolutely brilliant ! - you can browse your entire itunes catalogue on the phone , and you feel as if you are using it on the iPod , but all then when you choose a track the sound comes booming out of your computer ! , Cool !

Tried a couple of free apps as I said , they download quick and simple (not sure if this will be the case tomorrow though !)

A lot of comments were made about the similarity between Zibri's "Installer" and the Apps store when it was first publicised , but I have to say (in my initial experience) the Apps store is far slicker and more polished ,the only downside being that you have to pay for stuff !

I have just used the location thing in Maps, - now I am not sure what improvements have been made here - but it seems a hell of a lot more accurate than I recall , with the crosshairs literally being on my exact postition - I am not sure whether the mast / wifi technology is able to "learn" , and it is simply recognising my wifi point or what - but If I didn't know better I'd swear that GPS was in use !!!
Really pleased so far !

Sounds awesome! I can definitely see me getting AppleTV now. I think for playing music through the home cinema it'll be amazing with the remote application.

Really interesting about the positioning on your Google Maps! That really is very cool.

Thanks :D

Macrumors removed the link at the request of Apple - but not before .... I grabbed a copy here (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4955.20080710.bgt53/iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw)

But it may not stay for long :)

Edit: The upgrade does that a very long time, it is scarier than a very scary thing - don't panic - don't give up - don't fiddle with the iPhone - don't stop the process - don't even look at it, let it continue till it has finished. It takes a bit more than five minutes in total .... go make a cup of tea :D

Edit 2: The iPhone will do a couple of restarts, before the final one it will restore from the backup that iTunes made of it (you did make a backup of your iPhone before you started this, right?).

Edit3: By now you will have an empty iPhone  - don't panic - iTunes will then re-sync everything that was on there previously - go make another cup of tea. Me? I'm going to bed, this can sort itself out overnight. Its what Apple stuff does best, sort itself out, humans are entirely superfluous to requirement :D
