The £15/3GB Mobile Broadband (https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-broadband/data-plans/pay-monthly/) isn't too bad either (except for the 24 month commitment)
https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-broadband/

The rest of the Mobile Broadband plans are madness!

Some of those deals will kill Flext stone dead.

T-Mobile's PAYG mobile broadband is a laugh at £4 a day! £99.99 for the modem too!! Not at races are they when 3 give you a modem for £49 and its a tenner a month for 1GB of data on PAYG. Soon it'll be the same network too. Some serious pencil sharpening required on this product's pricing.

£30 1400 Mins & Unlimited Texts - thats the Flext35-killer (up to 900 mins or 1800 text or any mix of both!) or save £5 and lose 100 mins with £25 800 Mins & Unlimited Texts

Its funny with T-Mobile's plans - it takes a few days for them to sink in and be understood with me :) But ever since Flext they have been a bit good! And there is a superb range of handsets to choose from also.

Unlimited texts and 800 minutes at £25 a month certainly is an eye opener! You don't get a phone with that though, of course, you've got to add £10/month. That still makes it great value, though.

Its great for people who like to buy their phones sim free like myself.

They are some great deals. I'd probably go with the £20 deal, 500 mins and unlimited texts. Am on flext at the mo and frequently pay £40/£45 a month so trying to cut down my bills!

Yes but have you noticed that voicemail is not included and costs 12p, and that cals to CS are not included and cost 25p plus if you go over your limit each call costs 30p?

Three will give you 1100 mins or text with free voicemail and 300 3 to 3 mins. It boils down to how you use your mobile at end of day.

T-Mobile giveth, and T-Mobile taketh away :D

Yet another lesson to the unwary, read the small print, Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) - you'd think that Latin was made specifically for the Mobile Phone industry!!

I'm considering this when it comes to getting the iPhone 3G on PAYG.

The contract tariffs are a joke.. £35 and you get 600 minutes and 500 texts..

So the Solo £20 deal you get more for your money.. Should that really be the case? I'm a bit reluctant to pay nearly double money per month.. for less.. it's only the mobile browsing that swings it for 02/iphone.

O2 have the extensive WiFi tie-up, which is potentially very valuable, plus the price includes the data and, when out of 3G, EDGE. The O2 tariff now also includes the handset subsidty, which obviously the T-Mobile prices do not. All in all, the O2 £35/mo tariff isn't bad for the whole package.

iPhone's still going to be £159 tho on £35 pm tariff?

So over 18 months = £35 X 18 = £630 + £7.50 (insurance) X 18 = £135 + £159 for iPhone 16GB = £924

Ben

£789 excluding the insurance ;)

You're going to be gutted if and when you're iPhone gets nicked!

Without the insurance I don't think I'd take it out the house heh

It's just not really fair to factor that in to the calculation, is all, given that the Solo tariff would not have an option to insure the iPhone.

iPhone's still have a manufacturer warranty of at least a year, right?

Ginz

Manufacturer warranty doesn't insure against theft.. it's mainly for if there's a hardware fault with the iPhone..

Manufacturer warranties don't insure against theft? :p ;)

I doubt I'd take out phone insurance. I might make sure it's covered under my home insurance, though. I'm not too fussed with insuring items costing less than £500 - otherwise it's just so much insurance money going out. There'll be insurance for our insurance one of these days, mark my words!

Of course, I've never lost a phone, or had one nicked. Some people seem to be parted from their mobile phones with alarming regularity!
