dropped my 6120 classic into my local 3 store on Monday as it would not turn on.
Sent Tuesday, looked at Wednesday / Thursday, posted back Thursday / Friday.
Still waiting for the phone call to say it's came back, or it's got issues or it's got...
Popped in yesterday, it's not back yet they say.
waiting for phone call, has anyone used this before and was it any good?

Used them once, a few years back, they were abysmal. Said the phone was water damaged when it wasn't when I sent it off to them. The fault was plainly a broken battery catch!

Ive used them a few times now and only once they took longer than 3 days but it may be because they had to give me a new handset, then again saying that 3's repair contractors aint the best.

And then of course there were the tales a while back of P4U water damaging handsets returned to them for warranty repairs. The word of advice was to get the phone inspected at the counter, not let out of your sight until you are in receipt of a signed document clearly stating "no water damage". Its easy to spot, there is litmus paper in the phones that is red when dry and changes to green or blue if water gets in.

and Total Repair can not repair it due to:
"Physical Damage"
walked down to the local Northampton Nokia Service Centre, and they checked for physical damage, could not find it and advised to send the Handset to Anovo in Thetford for a Software Reflash.
Went back to the 3 Store and they rang Total Repair, who said they were unable to reflash the software so it is beyond economical repair.
So the handset is on it's way to Anovo, via Special Delivery, for a software reflash.

thats exactly my thought,
my next handset will be sim free, and the Samsung L760 is looking a better choice every day.

came back from anovo not fixed, incorrect software or something
so I'm left looking up on the net, as I no longer have a warranty, or buying a new phone.

Yea, tough luck with that. It wouldn't surprise me if the repair company jiggered it on purpose!
The trouble is that when the modern Nokia go wrong they stay wrong. I had an N95 that died during a NSU routine for no apparent reason. I took it back for repair to Vodafone and after 7 days they gave up and sent me a replacement. They've spent so much time and effort "securing" these new handsets (at the behest of the mobile network opertors) that every operation on these fraught with danger.
But if the operators are going to follow O2 and Vodafone's lead by not using SP locks anymore that will be an awfully good thing.

If it's in ADL Loader mode, it's waiting for a flash. You can sometimes get out of it by holding *, 3 & the Green Call button while turning on the phone (if there's a SIM, make sure it doesn't have a PIN).
Best place would be Communicaid near Huntingdon, as they fixed an N95 that failed a flash. Really helpful if you call in, but you may be able to post it to them?

Ha! Exact same thing happened to me. They refused to fix my phone as well. Rubbish!
