Well not for me on my 18 month contract. Only problem is I'm now starting to get calls from "three". I get an automated call telling me that it's "three" calling but all their operators are currently busy and telling me to call an 0845 number. I didn't stay on the phone any longer as I know that it is a rouge trader. Well I assume it is.
I assume that three upgrades are availabe from my handset on 333. I'm just about 2/3 of the way through my current deal. Would they try and get me to sign up for another deal this soon?
What's the deal with three upgrades these days?

Hi
The short answer is not as generous as they used to be.
No free line rent or cashback like last few years.
If you are prepared to sign up for 18 months they will usually give you £5 off line rental and a new handset (From the £15 mix and match selection)
Depends if you need a new handset.
I was actually told to sell my upgrade Nokia 6400 on e-bay by 3css!!
Told me it was worth £180 on e-bay till I said It was more like £80.

Sounds like a rogue Trader, I got two handsets out of them in 2006 at upgrade, N70 and a 6280, but I've not had upgrade time yet.

mmm. Not sure what to do. I'm happy on my existing tariff. Do I rock the boat?

I agree with mob453
prob some scammer pondlife trying to get you to pay more money for an inferior handset.
I quite enjoy the sport now as these people often ring while i`m at work so I get my colleagues around and we string the caller (who obviously knows nothing about the product) along till they hang up!
Three are certainly not as pro active as they used to be in regards to contacting existing customers early so they dont "stray"..
I just wish they would do a sim only deal as like the network and value it offers but dont like the current handsets so dont want to be tied in untill something better comes along.
Certainly from my experience and reading other forums there seems to be less emphasis on retentions-possibly bcoz the deals are the best anyway

I'm fairly settled with what I've got. I'm going to wait until my contract is up before signing up again.
