Continued loss of internal sound

My phone continually loses internal sound, so that I have to turn on the speaker to make and receive calls.

It usually lasts up to 1 week, then seems to fix itself.

Has anyone had this problem? What's the solution?

Sounds like a handset fault to me. If you haven't already, try finding the latest software on the Sony Ericsson website.

If that doesn't sort out the problem it will need to be repaired or, if it's out of warranty, replaced.
