Hello there,
Being the New boy on the grid,perhaps I can pick someone's brains.
I have been given a brand new sim free Nokia 6300 which works very well on 3 as a normal mobile.
Are there GPRS/MMS configuration settings available for this phone to work on the 3 network,if so where and how do I get them into the phone?
I am as technically adept as a blind hyena!!

According to Three you can get your settings here: http://www.three.co.uk/personal/help_support_/my_mobile_/software_and_settings.omp

However I'm at a loss as to how!

Easiest way would be to call Customer Services and ask for the settings to be sent out, quoting that page if necessary.

The problem is that 3 do not supply any configuration settings to Nokia and you can only obtain them from 3.
3 do not provide Nokia 6300s on contract and say that they do not have the settings.I am reliably informed by someone in the industry that they are telling porkies,and the settings do exist.it is just a case of finding them.

I could suggest you try the Nokia Settings Wizard if the 6300 supports it - really not sure.

Alternatively here are some 3 settings that you may find a home for in your handset :)



GPRS Settings
Data bearer: Packet
Access Point: three.co.uk
user name: none
password: blank
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/n6680/HutchKey

in advanced settings
IPv4

MMS settings:

Data bearer: Packet Data

No Three :( The Nokia configurators don't include it.

Hi, I just set up my Nokia 6300 by going onto three's website under customer care and choosing the Nokia 6233 as my mobile. They then asked for my mobile number and sent me the settings via SMS.

Mind you this was the Australian 3 mobile site, but If you perhaps call the service center and ask them for the settings via sms for the 6233 it may work?
