Having been a Vodafone customer for a few years I was actually a little somewhat regretting leaving because I thought they were going to offer me a completely show stopping deal in order to keep me on the network. I got my PAC number the other day which they say triggers a call from their outbound calling team who can offer better deals than retentions.. with easter and everything they were going to call on Tuesday.. My head says I should have waited maybe?

I've been looking around all week at the N95 looking for a good deal.. I honestly didnt think I would get one. Everyone and everywhere has been going mental for the N95 in Nottingham. Just a bit of a review in stores..

Vodafone were doing it for £150, Phones4U were doing it for £150, Orange £90, T-Mobile for £80.. then after all that I walk in to Carphone Warehouse.. not somewhere I was expecting to walk out with a new contract and a new phone! Another thing, what do you guys think to the idea of insurance? I'm toying with the idea obviously to cover myself should anything happen to what essentially is a £500 phone but CPW insurance per month is just huge.. £11 a month.. what do you guys advise?

After a bit of negotiating, not a great deal I got the N95 for free on T-Mobile Flext 35 with Web+Walk.. Wasn't sure whether to go with the W+W because it all ended up coming to £42.50 a month with it included but thought what the hell! Didn't actually want to go on another 18 month contract either but the price difference between 12 month and 18 month when you add up the full year contract value, there isn't much in it and I'm getting far more value per month on 18.

One thing that has particularly surprised and impressed me is the handset is completely vanilla! There's no branding on the handset whatsoever! For a phone purist like me that's a huge bonus!

The screen is beautiful, the slide is satisfying, the buttons are comfortably larger to use than my N73 and overall it seems to be a vast improvement.

Hi Ginz,

How come you got the phone for free? I thought you'd have to pay £100+

I have just got mine today, and it is a great phone! Always have had Nokia phones and always with Orange. Very pleased with it so far, only bought it shortly after 14.00 hours, and was connected within less than two hours!!!:D :p :) ;)

Lots of N95 excitement continues, I see - this and the Prada are currently the hottest handsets in the UK and, surprisingly, supply seems to be keeping up with demand.

The N95 is, I believe, the fastest selling Nokia ever, unseating the N73...

Yes, they are selling like hot cakes!!! It is incredible, but then is not surprising, with such a high quality lens and 5 megapixels to go with it, as well as the GPS. Have not tried the latter yet.

Will be ordering a 2gig memory card this weekend, which I should receive by Tuesday, if all goes well. Have to get a new car charger as the socket on the phone is a different size, might get another charger for at home, at the same time.

Now waiting for fonejunkie to have a Krusell case for this phone, too. These cases are really great, so hopefully there will be one available soon.

Out of interest - what did you get in the box from Orange?

I just read this http://mobizinesupdate.blogspot.com/2007/04/whats-in-yours.html

Which compares T-Mobile vs Vodafone.. I'd be interested to see what Orange users got.

Cheers.

Here goes, taken from the box:

Nokia N95(of course)
Battery
Charger
Stereo Headset
CD
USB Cable
Music Remote
TV Cable, which is not written on the box
User Guide

Interesting, I have a Canon Powershot S1 IS, and the video quality on both are exactly the same, but the pixels on the camera lens are different, as the Canon only has 3.1 Mega Pixels. It is however a very good camera, but this is more portable, as it is lighter and smaller and has a much better lens with more megapixels. I am just waiting to see what Canon are going to bring out next in their Digital SLR, as I think the 400D is very good, unless something better turns up.

Strange, that some of the UK companies have taken away the use of Voip, I sure hope they change their minds and update to allow these phones to use Voip.

No sooner had I installed the PC Suite from the CD, and there was already an updated version, which I downloaded and installed!

I got N95 on Vodafone and was a bit suprised to not see the system rush demo on their as it looked quite good from the N95 vids i saw on youtube, however the demo is free over at the nokia site on the N93 page located here - http://www.nokia.com/A4162311 :) Can either Wap or Wi-Fi to your N95 or just download it to your PC and use the Nokia Suite to install it to your phone. Its one great looking demo too :D enjoy all

All the shops here have sold out of them! Anyone know about the networks? I seen a deal on http://www.moneysupermarket.com/MobilePhones/default.aspx but how do I know if they've got it in stock when even my two local tmobile shop's struggling to find them?
