Having been a Vodafone customer for a few years I was actually a little somewhat regretting leaving because I thought they were going to offer me a completely show stopping deal in order to keep me on the network. I got my PAC number the other day which they say triggers a call from their outbound calling team who can offer better deals than retentions.. with easter and everything they were going to call on Tuesday.. My head says I should have waited maybe?
I've been looking around all week at the N95 looking for a good deal.. I honestly didnt think I would get one. Everyone and everywhere has been going mental for the N95 in Nottingham. Just a bit of a review in stores..
Vodafone were doing it for £150, Phones4U were doing it for £150, Orange £90, T-Mobile for £80.. then after all that I walk in to Carphone Warehouse.. not somewhere I was expecting to walk out with a new contract and a new phone! Another thing, what do you guys think to the idea of insurance? I'm toying with the idea obviously to cover myself should anything happen to what essentially is a £500 phone but CPW insurance per month is just huge.. £11 a month.. what do you guys advise?
After a bit of negotiating, not a great deal I got the N95 for free on T-Mobile Flext 35 with Web+Walk.. Wasn't sure whether to go with the W+W because it all ended up coming to £42.50 a month with it included but thought what the hell! Didn't actually want to go on another 18 month contract either but the price difference between 12 month and 18 month when you add up the full year contract value, there isn't much in it and I'm getting far more value per month on 18.
One thing that has particularly surprised and impressed me is the handset is completely vanilla! There's no branding on the handset whatsoever! For a phone purist like me that's a huge bonus!
The screen is beautiful, the slide is satisfying, the buttons are comfortably larger to use than my N73 and overall it seems to be a vast improvement.
