I was told about this today: http://www.vodafonebetavine.net/
Basically it looks to be a little development pad for mobile applications. It's understandable that Vodafone would want to keep an eye on what's up-and-coming and about to flush their voice and text revenues down the lav ;) Still, interesting, interesting!

Were leading the way in harnessing the power of Web 2.0 the second generation of internet-based services, such as social networking sites, that emphasises collaboration and sharing of information among users.
What is Vodafone Betavine?
Vodafone Betavine is a testing ground for the latest concepts and technologies in mobile and internet applications. It allows people to test their ideas in real-world conditions, with others who are knowledgeable and interested in developing mobile applications for the future.
Everything on the site is pre-competitive (its a forum for technical discussions, not a site designed for us to seek competitive advantage) and non-commercial: no money changes hands and the applications on the site are still at an early stage of development. It has the potential to benefit the whole mobile telecoms industry.
