Turn on phone, enter pin, bars, time and 3g symbol comes up, I go to unlock the kepad, at which point it freezes.

Have tried leaving battery out for ages, have taken memory card out ...everything. Really need phone and can't get to service centre until midweek.

Any ideas? Thanks

How annoying :( If you can't unlock the keypad I guess you're pretty restricted in what you can do, and I don't believe Nokia have online updates for the 6280. The service centre is probably your best bet, but until then you'll need to find something else to drop your SIM into. Hopefully someone else will have a better idea ;)

Nokia's online updates for the 6280 are in fact the 6288 and are the same as far as I can tell - I did an update to mine a while back and Nokia's Updater decided to stuff on the 6288 firmware for me. I'm on a T-Mobile 6280 now running version 3.60 dated 10-02-06 RM78 (both 6280 and 6288 seem to be RM78 as far as I can tell).

The permanently frozen keyboard sounds like a specific hardware fault to me, but it may well be worth a firmware update in the interim.
