3 UK have now added the Nokia E65 to the x-series range of handsets... however there are numerous reports circulating on the net that there are problems with some of the services bring incompatable with the handset.

Main issues appear to be with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Go & Mobile Mail.

So far there does not appear to be a resolution on offer with 3 CS advising customers that it will be two weeks before the above serices become available on the E65.

Not a good idea to market the phone before everything works!! Hopefully customers buying this handset will be able to return it under the 14 day trial period if they need to.

If anyone has any experience of the above or knows when there will be a resolution of these issues plaese post them below.

Hey, do you have a source or sources for this?

getti - do you have any further information WRT the resolution? Are handsets being sold currently compatible with these services? Also, what about existing customers - can they now use them?

The X-Series compatibility chart is on-line and I prusume it's up to date with the status of all of the applications available on all of 3's handsets.

The big question remains - why on earth are 3 touting x-series on brand new handsets like the Nokia 6288 when they can only offer 3 out of 8 services on it?

It is crazy..... every new handset should support all of the X-Series services from launch unless a model has been introduced as a basic PAYG phone if 3 are taking the X-Series concept seriously.

It is indeed an odd circumstance for 3 to find themselves in. However, if the Customer gets what they want then no harm done. Providing, as ever, that 3's Customer Services team can provide backup support as and when needed.

X-Series is not going to be mainstream. This will be a minority issue.

Oh what will be then as three are pushing it like I dont know what and what else can they currently offer?

Its a bit sad to ofer the only thing they have to find it does not work on half the handsets supplied to buyers!

The problem for 3 is that the technology does not live up to the marketing hype. They should have planned this better before launch.
