Pity the mic is'nt working on your A1000. Should be easy enough to replace though if you contact a Motorola service agent.

The A1000 must be one of the longest serving handsets on the market. Just proves how far ahead of it's time it was when it was launched.

The Mic could just be slightly dislodged in the handset - although unlikely. I'd not expect one of these to go simply through shipping unless there is a more significant fault.

I had one of these and they are solidly built - wouldn't want one to fall on my foot!

There are plenty of spares for these, and you may be able to get a broken or permanently locked one cheaply on eBay to strip down for parts.

i just sold mine on ebay and it is the buyer who claims it is bust ..fine before i posted it though
