An interestingly one this. I do realise that the 6288 is an update of the 6280, and followed hot on the heels of its predecessor.

I have been eagerly looking for an update to the T-Mobile branded firmware for my Nokia 6280 but it does not even appear on the Nokia Software Updater (http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4226014), nor does the 6288.

Tonight I was checking for an update to my 6680 and decided to give the 6280 a whirl and what a pleasant surprise I had! The NSU will find the handset (an RM-78) but will show it as the 6288. However, at the moment there is no firmware update for this handset, at least on the T-Mobile branding.

Perhaps someone with a 3-branded 6280 could give the NSU a try and report back?

It may be that a 6280/6288 firmware update will arrive seeing as the NSU is actually finding and correctly identifying it.

Edit: The Product Code for the T-Mobile Nokia 6280 is 0532255
Latest firmware is supposed to be 5.94 - but seems to be Vodafone only at the mo!
Quite a bit of info on the latest here (http://www.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-363788.html)

Ususal disclaimer - Try anything at your own risk entirely. You could turn the handset into a paperweight!

I would try it ( with my Vodafone 6280 ) but unfortunately I can't get NSS to recognise the 6280 !

I just get "error" in the bottom left corner (of NSS ) - yet it recognises every other nokia I try (9500 , e61 , 6630 )

So I am stuck with Vodafone Branding
