Hi,

Recently the loudspeaker/external speaker on my K800i broke, preventing me from playing ringtones or listening to a conversation through loudspeaker. It didn't bother me that much but I thought I'd send it back anyway for repairs, since I have a warranty, and now I'm dealing with 3 customer service, who are useless.

The phone was apparently not repairable (sure it wasn't), and they've sent me a 'replacement' for it, however, the replacement isn't exactly what I'd call a replacement, since it has a large amount of physical damage on the handset. It isn't new, it isn't my phone, and also has the contacts/pictures and private information of someone whose probably sent their phone in for repairs. It seems as if they've just sent me that phone.

I looked at the thread below which said try a customer service email, but I have called 3 and they said they'd get back to me in 24 hours. I'm dubious if they will, but I'll give it a go.. mainly I just wanted a heads up on whether or not they're allowed to do this? Surely they can't be trading off different phones to people and calling them replacements, especially when they contain private information.

Firstly, please contact [email protected] with regard to being sent a replacement handset that has somebody elses personal information on it. That's wholly unacceptable and the matter deserves to be brought to light! All refurbs should be entirely back to manufacturer defaults, completely clean.

Right, welcome to Talk3G ;) A replacement handset can be a refurbished one, it doesn't have to be brand new. However, you're surely within your rights to demand that the handset isn't damaged and is at least in a similar physical condition to the one you sent away.

Best of luck.
