I use Handy Weather on my phone and have it set to display the handy Weather screen saver instead of the normal screen saver.

This was all well and good until I was using my phone there and I noticed distinct shadowing on the screen. You can imagine my suprise, the screen saver does more harm than good.

The worst thing about it? Licing in Scotland, I now have permanent clouds. :(

I've turned on the normal screen saver and I hope this is just a temporary thing and that the screen returns to normal after a couple of days.

My word of advice, don't use static screen savers.

Urgh! How crazy that they made a static screensaver, you should complain to the creator!

On the plus side the shadow will hopefully fade before too long. Lets hope so, eh?

Update: Screen seems to be better now after turning the screen saver off.

Yea, surprising as it may sound ..... LCDs do suffer from screen burn, and probably a lot quicker than the CRT of old did! My 32" LCD HDTV came with a ton of warnings about avoiding static images on screen for too long. Its not been percieved as a problem with mobiles so far ..... with their weedy battery life the screens need to be switched off as soon as poss.
