Hi,
I recently got a 6280 and I've taken some pictures and video clips with it. I really want to get these onto my computer, but I cant work out how.
My previous phone was a Nokia 7280 and it was easy to do it - I just went to the gallery, hit send as multimedia message, then entered my email address. But when I try to do that with the 6280, I can only put numbers in the 'to' field, so entering an email address is impossible.
My PC doesnt have infrared or bluetooth so I cant transfer files that way.
Please help! I'll be forever grateful. Thank you.

Hi raintracks, welcome to Talk3G!

It should be as simple as this, within your contacts, find yourself for example, click edit then you should be able to add detail. So, you can add email addresses etc. Then when it comes to sending the MMS, you look up yourself in the contacts and it should give you all the details under your name, including the email address. If that doesn't work, when you've created the MMS, if you've selected the "to:" field, if you hold down the # key does it not change to character input instead of numerical?

Let us know how you get on, if that hasn't helped I'm sure one of the 6280 owners will be with you shortly to resolve!

Oh, I feel so silly now! I'd only been tapping # instead of holding it down. Both of the suggestions you made worked - thank you! My pictures are online now. Unfortunately it seems I'm unable to transfer any video clips - the one I attempted to send is 270.0 kb and is apparently '177 kb over the transfer limit' :( Thats a disappointment.
Thank you again for your help, though.

It's a shame for sure, especially with the faster speeds that 3G has enabled us to transfer things at, you'd of thought the limit would of been increased! If you're wanting to get large files onto your PC then Bluetooth or a cable connection to the PC is really the only way. I'm glad we've managed to help out, and if you're an avid picture taker with the 6280 be sure to enter the Talk3G photo competition that we hold every month! :)

Can you not send them as an attatchment on an email?
I've managed to send some quite large files that way.

Ahh, I forgot about that! Yes, you could set up your own POP email on the handset if you have email that supports it and it'll allow you to send an email, from your own email address and add attachments as large as the phone can take. Well done that man for remembering!

The best way to transfer multimedia to a PC is with a Bluetooth dongle. For about £9.99, you can then transfer back and forth what you like for no additional cost.

Have to agree with the above 100%. Its the most flexible solution too as you can use your BT dongle on any PC (with software installed).

Now if you have a Nokia N80 you have another option - Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) which is also free and much faster than Bluetooth. :D

Bluetooth is excellent - I am able to transfer loads across including games which would otherwise be impossible on some phones - I find Bluetooth Dongle speedy enough.
