I am a little "miffed" about my recent call to CS

I phoned to downgrade the remainder of my tarriff , Third time I have done this , different contract each time , although they move the goalposts this time & said that I needed to wait till 6 months to downgrade , despite me having paperwork with 3 months stated , ah well , you can't argue with an Idiot !

Now, the guy (Indian , obviously ) went through all the procedure , confirmed I was on my seventh month of the contract - then told my I can only downgrade within 24hrs of my billing cycle ! (???) and that I'd have to ring back the day after my next bill (which would take me into the next cycle surely ? )

I pointed this out to him and he couldn't see the problem

Surely this eqautes to not letting me reduce my Tarriff (as I am entitled to ?

I am 100% happy that they cannot change it mid cycle and expect to see the reduction in my next bill , but surely they can proccess the request during this bill cycle ?

Bloody Idiots ! thank the lord for o2 !

"which would take me into the next cycle surely ?"

Hello.

I think that they let you downgrade only after the first six months and then one step at a time. Also, when you request a change of tariff, it doesn't take effect immediatelly, but from the next billing date.

Example. My billing date in the 4th of every month. On the 28th (or so) of November 2004 I call them and ask them to upgrade my tariff (VT500 --> VT750). I was told by two different advisors (both 333) that it would take effect from the 4th of December. In anycase, I didn't like that and didn't make any changes. I guess the same happens here.

Thanks for the replies

The thing is , I am 7 months in , so I am entitled to DG from VT500 to VT100

And I do accept that this will not be effective until the next bill cycle . but he is telling me that I cannot even request the downgrade till after my next billing date (thus meaning the changes will then be delayed for a further month ! )

Reading between the garbage he told and applying a little common sense , my guess it that they cannot proccess my downgrade WITHIN 24hrs of the date of my bill cycle (which is tomorrow) - which is fair enough , meaning i will have missed the "deadline" for this month , but I still can't see why they cant just tell me this and get on with it , rather than telling me (in a jumbled fashion) to ring back in two days !

I'll be glad when all my comms with this God awful company are over !

Total nonsense from their part, if you ask me. Try calling again, maybe this time you'll get to someone who's more capable in doing his job. Best of luck.
