Saw the folling message on "Today on 3G".
"Nokia N73 On Internal 3 Systems
I was recently advised that the Nokia N73 started to appear on internal 3 systems.
No information on any prices or dates yet but at least this shows 3 will be launching the Nokia N73 sometime soon which is a phone many people are waiting for."

Had a play with one with of these yesterday...
Well good.
Although - I had an N73 in one hand and a K800i in the other...
They're pretty much the same phone..
The K800i looks slightly better with a better cam..
But the N73 has stereo sound..!
Hmm.
I know this is the N73 thread - but that k800 is WELL nice.
I've never been tempted by Sony before...
But that phone is class.

The N73 has the benefits of being a smartphone, of course.
However, whatleydude, if you've never owned a Sony Ericsson before then it's about time you did :p They're the only other phone manufacturer I do business with.

What is the difference between a normal phone and a smart phone anyway?
I mean.. REALLY?

Yeah, I think the multi tasking is the main difference.

I couldn't be without my S60 OS now. I suppose it's like having multi channel TV and going back to traditional analogue channels 1-5.

I never thought i needed/wanted a smartphone and was happy with phones like the 903 but after a short time i soon missed some features.
I mean on the review N71 i have installed:
Mobizines
Agile Messenger
Opera Mobile
Sky Sports App
All are really handy

Probably worth mentioning that Symbian S40 as on the 6280 allows similar multi-functioning although it is not as comprehensive in terms of apps etc. as the S60 variants in the N-series or others. For instance, on my 6280, I can be on a call, flip over to one of the many apps and use that without interruption. However, it does not allow multiple apps to be resident in memory (and running) at the same time.
There can be issues though - my old [????!!!!!] 6680 would run multiple apps concurrently, but the handset could become unstable sometimes and either need the apps to be closed or the handset restarted. Badly written apps could cause memory leaks that required reboots of the handset also.
Be prepared for life in the PC lane when using a Smartphone, and all that implies. When is the last time anyone rebooted a Nokia 3310 then? :D Symbian, Windows Mobile, proprietary multitasking OS - they'll all repeat the M$ PC experience for you in some way or the other.
Contrast with the more traditional handset, only one task at any one time.
Smart? Well, I'd not have used that particular word, but it has stuck :) so who am I to argue?

Hi, welcome to Talk3G!
Unfortunately I don't think anyone knows this for definite, no :( But you could always barter with T-Mobile for a special rate on your tariff when upgrade time comes, and then buy the N73 SIM-Free.
