View Full Version : Can't call from contacts list

Hi,

My phone is an unlocked 3 phone (rare, I know) with a PAYG O2 UK SIM.

I finally got the thing set up and I tried to make a call from the contacts list, either by using the menu or by pressing the call button, but it only works once or twice, then a reboot is needed to be able to do it again.

I found a reference to something similar on Nokia's site and somebody asked for firmware revision: thread here (http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=57&query.id=0#M57)

mine is:

V 2.04.15
04-03-05
RM-36

Which is (well) old. How do I go about updating this firmware to a newer version? Does the firmware need to be a 3 one? Or is there a generic one?

Also, has anybody else come across this? As also in that thread was a mention of deleting all contacts and adding them back in 1 at a time (from the SIM I think).

Thanks,
Luke.

Assuming you have proof of purchase and the handset is within warranty (which might be two years... I'm not 100%) then a Nokia service centre should be able to flash your handset. If you tell them the problem and ask nicely for them to use the generic software and not the Three software then they might help.

If you can't get it done under warranty then similarly Nokia service centres should be able to get it done for a small charge. Best of luck!

Well, bought it off a copper from work, second hand. So no receipt.
