Hi All,

Well I've had a few problems with my 6280 and I called T-Mobile and they are sending me a new handset Monday morning.

Thing is, they have a courier waiting to take the old handset away. Which is fine, but doesn't give me a chance to get my contacts in the phone transfered.

I've already done my files though Nokia PC Suite. But when I try the phone Backup thing, it always crashes...

Does anyone know of a good way of saving the contacts to PC?

BTW - I have store my contacts in the phone's memory not SIM! :)

Thanks all.

Glen.

I always Sync my phone with Outlook so I have all my contacts on my computer. It also means I can easily transfer my contacts across different phone brands. If you don't have Outlook you can sync your contacts to a Windows Address Book.

On S60 phones you can back up the phone to the memory card... not sure about the 6280 though.

Just for good order - the Nokia phone backup does seem to work for me with both my Nokia (6280 and 6680), although to tell the truth I have never ever had to do a restore to a wiped handset.

It does rather look like your 6280 has been slightly cursed! Best of luck this next time :)

Why don't you transfer them to your sim, then when you get your handset back, transfer them back again? That's what I normally do.

I've downloaded Oxygene Phone Manager which I've managed to export the contacts to. I'll use it again to import to the next phone.

I'll also try the SIM transfer Morph.

The only issue with doing that is some of the additional information that is normally stored in the handset phonebook is lose when transferring to the SIM/USIM which only captures the most basic information.

Phone managers such as Nokia's own transfers all of the information into/out of the likes of Outlook.
