Hi All,
I have it! My 6280 on T-Mobile. Lot's to report, too little time! :-) But first impressions.... "Nice" :D
Just a quickie, for the life of me I can't find the 'area' to setup POP3 e-mail to check my e-mail account. Obviously I've found E-mail but not the setting part....
It's probably staring me in the face but I can't see the wood through the tress!
Eeekkk..
Anyone? :)

Hi Glen, Wots a "tress"? :p
Ah ha! I was doing that yesterday ... it aint entirely obvious, but it aint too hard either. Don't bother with Nokia's 6280 support website unless they have the ISP listed. Do it manually and you'll be okay, probably :D
Page 68 of your Nokia 6280 user manual is where you need to start - Settings.
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal config. settings > Options > Add new
Fill in all the details - the hardest bit for me was finding out who was T-Mobile's SMTP server - it is smtp.t-email.co.uk
Once you've created the new "Personal account" you need to activate it by highlighting it and going to Options > Activate
Thats all there is to it. Run up the eMail client and everything should work okay.
It only took me 1-1/2 hours to suss that lot out, the T-Mobile website was not helpful as the set-up link is/was broken when I tried it last night.

Hi there HandsOn,
"Trees" It should read! :-) You knew that.....!!
Hey, thanks for the details - Once I found where you do it, it was a piece of cake. Working brilliantly now!! I like the eMail client it's got built in actually.
One thing I've just noticed whilst checking, it shows the "from:" and "Subject:" but the "Message:" field doesn't actually have the message.Firstly I thought there would be an option in "options" to 'download' the rest of the message because it's only downloaded the headers...
I am alone here :-(

Errrr .... ummmm ...... wtf?
If I open a message I see the from and subject, then click on the message and the email client scuttles off and downloads he message itself. Thats what happens on mine. I think that the design is not to automaticaly download the full message because of memory limitations - there does not appear to be a setting to store the messages on the memory card, just the handsets main memory - which is miniscule to be polite!

This is very strange.....
Just sent myself an email ...
Then on the handset I go to RETRIEVE - It says connecting then retrieves the emails. Asks for "Disconnect" Yes or no (I have tried either option). I then see the message in the INBOX, I then select the message.. get "please wait" .. then I still get the "from", "Subject" also the "message" field title but no message...
Maybe I shall delete the account in the config and start again....
Mmmm, wish me luck.
Glen.
