Ive had my N70 on 3, for about 5 months now, and on a few screen shots of the main screen ive seen several small icons (like in the attached image). i was just wondering how to get this on, ive called my self to look through the settings several times but with no luck.

Go to: Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode -> Active standby -> ON
Once you have turned on the active standby, you can configure the applications shortcuts in "Active standby apps." under Standby mode settings :)
Letme know how it goes.

hi
i dont have a settings folder in tools like you showed:-
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode -> Active standby -> ON
mine is Menu > settings .... and so on, but when i get to standby mode i have no active standby i get a list of left selection key, right selection key, and so on. Its been like that since i got it.
ive jsut had a look on google now and it seems that 3 have removed this option from the handset, so oh well

How bizarre.. what a curious thing to remove.
Never mind mate - it aint that bad, its not like they've removed the option to surf the net or anything..

Hmm. I'm discovering more and more of these menu options and subtle features that Three are removing from their handsets. It's a bizarre and slightly worrying practice to be sure - they should be adding functionality, not removing it. The worst thing that as it's not 'obvious' branding there really is no way to know exactly what features have been axed from your purchase.
