Hi,
Brand new user and first time I've done a post (in this or any other forum-- being of the "older" generation,so hope I'm doing this right).
Just bought an N70 and installed Tomtom Mobile 5 on it; everything works OK for the first 7 to 10 minutes and then I get a message "No GPS device" but my GPS device is still showing Bluetooth connected and Satellite located.
Can anyone help please:confused:

I did some of the testing on the N70 while I was working for Nokia but the GPS testing I was personally involved with was very minimal and never more than 5 mins, so I have not encountered that problem and am yet to buy GPS for my N70. However, there are a lot of guys on here who have the N70 who may have experienced something similar, but it's not a problem I was aware of before the phone was released.

Have you noticed problems with other bluetooth devices?

Anyone else had this or other bluetooth issues?

Thanks for the reply, but not tried any other bluetooth devices yet (not got any); just spoke to a mate who recommends a firmware update at CPW; am going down this pm

The bluetooth problem you're describing could very well be down to the firmware in the N70. Generally bluetooth works reliable well once it is set up correctly, that can be the hard part but you got beyond that.

Other things that can cause bluetooth drop-off is strong radio interference possibly from another radio device. Or maybe even from a vehicle's engine bay or electronics. Its always going to be a hard one to prove outright, and a lot of experimentation is required.

I think you've done the right thing going to get a firmware update on the N70 - it is a good place to begin in this instance. Should that not work it is time to try to locate the specific circumstances of the failure occurring. Is it in the car, when walking, or at home or any regular place? If it is in the car, you may be able to eliminate the fault by relocating the GPS receiver to the rear parcel shelf (in sight of the sattelites) instead of by the front windscreen.
