I have just put my Vodafone sim into my XDA exec (for a laugh)

And I got a 2 bar UTMS signal , cool !

So I tried the internet , and it was flying - so I did the speed test at "the bandwith place"

..... And got a reported speed of ........

549.6 kbps !!!!

lol, it's incorrect. Bandwidthplace often gives incorrect readings on mobile connections. Try http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ and you should get a speed test readout within the theoretical limits of the technology!

Not entirely sure why bandwidthplace gives incorrect readouts - I think the transparent proxies the mobops use confuse it.
