Vodafone has announced a global Mobile TV service enabling Europeans to watch HBO on their 3G mobile phones.
Named Vodafone live!, the new service wont be offering the entire HBO program, but it will offer series like Sex and the City, Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Vodafone will also offer well-known brands and channels like Eurosport, Twentieth Century Fox Television, The UEFA Champions League, MTV, Discovery, Chilli TV and Fashion TV in countries like New Zealand or UK.
Vodafone live! will be available in Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain and the UK. "With a wide range of 'good for TV' handsets, an intuitive, easy to use service and a portfolio of instantly recognizable television brands and programming, the launch of global Mobile TV is a compelling proposition for our customers", says Peter Bamford, Chief Marketing Officer at Vodafone. "Attracting world class content providers, such as Twentieth Century Fox Television and HBO, ensures the premium quality of this product and underpins our confidence in its widespread adoption."
Vodafone's global Mobile TV channels will be available across Vodafone markets starting this month.
