Last month I was paid my bonus from work so I decided to pay my way out of my 3 contract..... WHY ????

Well I have staunchily defended 3 in the west of Scotland for long enough as the coverage was nearly always very good(I know some will disagree on this) but when I requested a tariff change & my text bundle to be removed the customer service centre couldnt even perform this little task without a problem.

Basically they dropped my tariff to VT100 but left me with my text bundle .... hmmmmm simple request I thought - WRONG.I phoned them to complain & they said I had not requested the text bundle to be removed.

Fudge I cried and asked them to do it then ..... they said ok no problem sir it has been done for you.

I then received my next bill - text bundle still in place - Good Gracious I exclaimed.

I then got the run around again regards this issue so I hung up the phone and gathered my thoughts and called back "RIGHT I WANT TO END MY CONTRACT" I said ..... They transferred me all over the bloody shop until eventually the call dropped - FROM MY LANDLINE - AAAAARRRGGGHHH

I then phoned back and said I want to speak to someone about ending contract and I am not explaining to you or any other advisor unless they can deal directly with my request.

TRANSFERRED TO SCOTLAND - HURRAH !!!!

They arranged the disconnection and I duly paid up but last week I received my disconnection statement - GUESS WHAT ????

The text bundle was still in place & they had the cheek to charge me a £3 non-dd handling charge - ****ERS

I am now phoneless & very disconsulate with 3's so called customer service - I will never use this network again even if they give me the phone & free services + calls and no rental

Bloody expensive paperweights ..... Long live 2G

Oh dear :\ The customer services really isn't good - from your experience it doesn't sound like a lot has changed since my 12 month stint.

Did you end up paying for the text bundle on the remaining months?

Hey - it's not all bad - you so have to get the Nokia 6680 when it comes out on Orange/Vodafone/whatever! The other networks may not be as cheap, but they've made a good attempt at 3G so far and coverage isn't as important thanks to the seamless handovers.

If you do go back to 2G, what handset and network do you think you'd go for? Oh, and how long do we have to convince you to get another 3G phone? :p

Well if you have a handset? why dont you try the new 02 on line sim only deal? Its a 30 day contract, for £25 pounds perm moth you get 200 mins and 1000 Texts pluse free voicemail.

For £45ppm you get 800 mins and 2000 free text plus free voicemail and ITS cheaper calls over seas, its only a 30 day contract dont like it leave it?

I cant confrim wht 3G charges are but I think they do bolt on, look on line or ring them

Can you use the 02 deal to access their 3g network or is it just for their GSM service?

Nice to see another "escapee" :)

No seriously , I have been called "biased" many a time , but I say no-one can accuse me of not having given Three a fair chance with 20 months use , four contracts and 8 handsets !

But I feel I banged my head against the wall with them for far too long - and am also pleased that I have pretty much severed my ties with them - I have two contracts still running one till about september, one till December) and two handsets (e228 & u 8110 ) I use these for cheap calls from home to cut down on the landline bill , and now 3G is available pretty much across the board , there'll be no need for me have any more dealings with this company

I really do have a problem taking H3G seriously as a network - which is bad enough - but then , chuck in the poor CS , and you have a recipe for disaster
I hope they do get their act together before long , after all , I suppose they have helped bring prices of calls etc down to a more affordable level , but I am damned if I am going to subsidise their development any longer

Who knows ? in 5 years time I may come back to a Three that is a real contender , but for now, I am glad to be out of it

I gave Threepay a try for 2 months before getting the Orange contract. I think they are ideal for kids who might use there phone quite a fair bit, but for people like me who thought I didn't need WAP access etc it wasn't any good. The network was too restricted for my liking, but you never know, they might eventually provide what customers need in the future! But until then I'm staying away.
I'm glad I didn't take out a contract with them, as I would be stuck!

Im not sure about this, but as a contract Sim I would think so, not sure what charges are, it may be worth giving them a ring to confirm number is on web site.

im thinking of going back to them hard to beat £45 pounds for 800 mins and 200 text with free voicemail downside is no phone, but I normally buy mine sim free.

I'm not sure if my 02 SIM works on 3G in my Moto a-835. I will force it to use W-CDMA again and see what happens if I have 02's coverage. I should have by now as i am very close to a major airport.
