Since the launch of 3's Irish services, I have been able to access them on my UK handset! So far, the following work:
The Today on 3 Ireland page: http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/3g/ie/vtb/strip/
Services on 3 Ireland page: http://mobile.three.co.uk/hb/3g/ie/vtb/grid/
RTE News Videos (Currently Free): http://mobile.three.co.uk/pc/Live/pcreator/live/rtenewsroia (I need to verify that one)

All of these are genuine, and work on the UK handsets.

As proof, here's a complete save (in Microsoft Web Archive/.mht format), of the 3 Ireland Services page, and I may also post one of the RTE News pages.

How cool!

Seems a bit bizzare that it should work though... I thought all the 3 operations were pretty independent of each other.

Well found out :)

The Three IE network uses a lot of the same core network. Much cheaper to run an STM-1 across than buy all that pesky Nokia/NEC equipment.

Some of the key management are also shared. Bob Fuller is the CEO of both the UK and Ireland operations.
